Urasoe International Relations Association (UIRA) is a civic organization in Urasoe City, Okinawa Japan. 

UIRA holds many events like language lessons, cooking classes or other interesting workshops to promote international exchanges between Okinawan people and foreign people. Furthermore, UIRA co-hosts some annual events with JICA Okinawa, and they get favorable reviews every time.

Some workshops are open for everyone, but some are reserved only for UIRA members. If you take several courses, we recommend you become a UIRA member first so that you can get a discount rate for our workshops.

<Membership privileges>

1) UIRA Newsletter: we send our Newsletter to your house/office biannually. 

2) Member price: we offer discount rates only for UIRA members. You can take some classes at a reasonable price.

3) Events exclusive to members: Some workshops are reserved only for UIRA members. If you'd like to take part in those events, you need to be a UIRA member.

4) Support international events: UIRA helps you to hold an international exchange event. For example, if you look for a big space for having an exchange party, we will find a place for you.

<Application>

Initial membership fee: 1,000 yen

Annual membership fee: Urasoe City citizens         - 1,000 yen

                                           from other municipality   - 1,200 yen

                                           students                                - 500 yen

                                           group                                   - 5,000 yen                                                                                 corporation                       - 10,000 yen

To be a UIRA member, please fill in and send us an application form by e-mail or by fax. Then, please pay the membership fee (both initial and annual) through a bank transfer. Or, please visit our office and make the application there.
